Firm Overview
Melvin Neal, a Los Angeles native, currently heads his own law firm in Los Angeles. Mr. Neal graduated from Howard University School of Law, where he served as editor-in-chief of the Howard Law Journal. Mr. Neal received his legal training at the law firm of Paul Hastings, Janofsky & Walker, in general litigation. Mr. Neal has amassed a broad range of experience during his twenty-nine years of practice. One aspect of his practice includes the planning and administration of trust estates and probate matters. As a civil litigator, Mr. Neal also represents whistleblowers and has been lead counsel in several actions relating to consumer protection including complex business litigation matters primarily involving unfair business practices, consumer fraud, commercial fraud, negligence and unfair trade practices. He has also been counsel for cases involving unpaid overtime wages and employee wrongful termination matters. He formerly served as a Commission for the Los Angeles City Employees' Retirement System, a $16 billion pension fund holding equities, fixed-income and Real Estate assets and a special aid to Mayor Tom Bradley.
